GeneralAbout me
Just a semi-retired man that found a hobby that he loves immensely after meeting a blind man that explained to me that his blindness was a gift, not a curse. He explained very eloquently that he sees more than people will perfect eyes and his world is far more beautiful. This after he asked me a question as I walked by him (Sir, were you in the military? Your gait is very strict and precise. You have confidence but there is something about your aura that seems gloomy. After that long discussion he had pulled me out of the deepest depression I could never truly describe. The next day I noticed two or three bald eagles, a favorite of mine, and I picked up my wife's old camera. My first photo was amazing. I was hooked. I am a photographer. A blind stranger had taught me how to see. I notice the most incredible beauty all around us, capture it, and share it with those that pass it by and never notice it. Some time later, after a LOT of nature photography, a female friend had lost a huge amount of weight and had successfully battled cancer. Her self-esteem had really taken some hits and she was posting on Facebook some pretty dreary words. I begged her to model for me outdoors on a beautiful Spring day. I took her to a large botanical park and spent a couple of hours shooting her in different locations and poses. The results made her smile and cry tears of happiness. I was hooked even deeper. My photography now is my passion.
